Holytown Parish Church

INTRODUCTION Holytown Parish Church
Background In 2006, the Presbytery of Hamilton proposed the appointment of an Interim Minister to the congregations of Holytown and  Wrangholm Kirk:  New Stevenston.  This proposal came following an unsettled period in both congregations due to the illness of the minister in one congregation, a short ministry in the other.  A vacancy in both and the decision that the congregations should be linked.  The linkage was  formed on Thursday, 26 October 2006, when the Interim Minister was introduced.  In December 2007, the Presbytery of Hamilton agreed that we be granted an unrestricted call.  Services Service times are 10.00 a.m. at Holytown Parish Church  11.30 a.m. at Wrangholm Kirk    We hold a joint service on Good Friday, with each Church taking turns at being host.  Both Churches have hearing loop and public address systems.  Volunteers from the congregation and members of organisations normally undertake scripture readings. Chaplaincy  The minister in this charge has the responsibility of being Chaplain to Holytown And New Stevenston Primary Schools.
