General Register Office for Scotland Family Records - the General Register Office for Scotland administers the registration of events such as births, deaths and marriages. It also takes the official government census every ten years, as well as keeping family and parish records.
National Archives of Scotland Family History - the National Archives of Scotland (NAS) keeps records created by Scottish government, as well as private records created by businesses, landed estates, families, courts, churches and other corporate bodies.
Motherwell Heritage Centre - the centre has a local studies and family history research room with microfilm and microfiche readers, computers for database searching and a photocopier and fax machine.
