Ordination and induction of The Rev (Mrs) Caryl Kyle BD (Min), DipEd to the Joint Charge of Holytown and New Stevenston: Wrangholm Kirk
This was indeed an evening to be remembered. We were delighted to see the church so well filled for this wonderful occasion in the life of our two congregations.
The Rev Karen Harbison of Trinity Church, Hamilton led the service. Her sermon, too, was a reminder to us that we all have a part to play in the life of the congregation, no matter how small. The Scripture Lessons were read by the two Session Clerks, Stewart McNeil and Gordon Gray.
The- Rev Shaw Paterson, Presbytery Clerk and Mr David Watt, Moderator of the Presbytery of Hamilton led the formal ordination and induction and also the questions to the congregations.
The symbols of Holy Scripture, Baptismal Water and the Communion Elements were all presented to Mrs Kyle. The former Interim Minister, Rev lain Goring, robed Mrs Kyle.
A joint choir from the two congregations sang "My Tribute". We should like to thank Mrs Netta Lithgow, organist of Wrangholm Kirk for training the choir. Tea was served and this was followed by a Ceilidh with music provided by Peter Gardner and friends.
We all enjoyed the food prepared for us and served to us. For this, we are indebted to a very willing group of ladies who spent a long time ensuring that the tea was served as quickly as possible. Thank you, ladies. You are much appreciated.
Caryl's Service of Ordination and Induction
A sincere thanks is extended to all those from Holytown and Wrangholm who participated in the preparation and organisation of this special evening for Caryl.
