A word from the editor
We have just embarked on a new era in the life of our church. It is with much pleasure that we welcome the Rev Mrs Caryl Kyle to the linked charge of Holytown and Wrangholm. It is our belief that God guided her to us and that, in turn, God guided the Nominating Committee to her. May God's richest blessings be upon Caryl as she begins this new phase in her life. We look forward to a new ministry and to a new awakening in our two congregations.
It is right that we should pause for a moment to thank our four Interim Moderators, namely, the Rev James Munton, the Rev Norma Moore, the Rev Colin Sutherland and the Rev Derek Hughes for the service they gave to us. We reiterate our thanks to our Interim Minister, the Rev lain Goring who not only did so much to steer us through the early days of the linkage but also brought a much enjoyed period of stability to us.
In recent weeks we have been fortunate to have Mrs Georgina Macmillan as our locum. She has worked tirelessly and has made contact with many of the congregation. We appreciate what she has done and wish to record our thanks to her.
We thank, too, the many different readers and ministers who have taken services for us. This was greatly appreciated. Alex McGregor, while Session Clerk, arranged pulpit supply for us in the early days - not an easy task! We thank him for his dedicated work.
We are ready and willing to go forward and to continue to seek to fulfil the words contained in our vision of being a living, caring church at the heart of our communities and celebrating worship, offering support, giving a welcome and sharing the good news of Jesus.
