Thank you
Betty and Bill Jenkins would like to express their appreciation of the flowers and cards received at the time of Betty's father's death. Your attendance at the funeral too brought them comfort. To one and all, thank you.
For the tots
As a little boy or girl it is difficult for you to understand what happens on what we call "Remembrance Sunday". Possibly you think of poppies or perhaps think of bigger boys and girls parading to Church in a uniform.
The poppies represent the thousands of poppies which grew and still grow in Flanders. They remind us of where the soldiers were and what grew there. The poppies are colourful and bright and we should wear them with pride. The men and women we are remembering did a lot for us and by wearing a poppy we are saying "thank you" to them.
For the teens
At times the month of November can appear to be drab. The clocks have been changed and Christmas has not yet arrived. But stop for a moment and think!
November is the month when we particularly remember the number of men and women of the many wars who gave their lives and those who served and were fortunate enough to return, so that we can enjoy freedom.
Memories are very precious and remembering about the sacrifice of these people helps us to appreciate the many good things we have.
A little part of a verse in Psalm 20, verse 7 says ". . . we will remember the name of the Lord our God". It is good to remember what God has done for us - through our parents, our teachers and our friends. Without all these people life would be pretty miserable. Let us all say "thank you" to God and to his Son Jesus Christ for all that they have done for us.
