For the tots
This is the time of year when you look forward to playing outside from morning to night because it is warm, sunny and bright but sometimes you will have to come indoors because it is raining.
You might not be very pleased about going inside but we are very lucky that when we turn on the tap, water comes out of the spout. We do need the rain which God sends to provide us with sufficient water in our taps.
In some parts of the world there is no clean water and little children just like you drink dirty rather than clean water. Next time you think it is horrible when it is raining remember that this is why we have nice water to drink and say thank you to God for looking after us.
For the teens
How widely do you open your eyes when you are walking about or being driven about? This is the season when there is so much to be seen just by being alert and watchful. Perhaps you would find it interesting to count the number of different birds you see in your garden or on the street or at the seashore? Have a look too at the gardens and see how many varieties of plants and flowers you see. It is amazing just how great a variety of flowers and birds can be found in our world.
But God did not stop with the flowers in our gardens, He also created many lovely wild flowers. Towards the end of summer you will see clumps of heather with their distinctive purple flowers.
This little prayer reminds us of the beauty we see all around us.
