For the tots
I am sure you all had a wonderful time at Christmas - lots of new toys to play with, Christmas dinner and so on. Perhaps everything seems very dull and uninteresting now. While you have been busy playing with all your new things little spring plants have begun to peak their way through the ground -lovely new green shoots which will later bring us very pretty flowers.
God never sleeps. He watches over us whether we are awake or asleep. Let us all watch to see the signs that the winter is slowly going away and is being replaced by spring.
For the teens
A little plaque was given to me a few months ago. On it is written the message, "Before you go to bed, give your troubles to God. He will be up all night anyway." Yes, it does sound amusing but it is the truth just the same.
God wants to share our happy times and he also wishes to share the troublesome things in our lives. We might think that small, maybe insignificant events, are of no consequence to God. You would be wrong, very wrong. God wants to share in all that we do and to guide our footsteps along the way. God can intervene in the most remarkable way and make us do something we had no intention of doing but we will always find that for that moment it was the most appropriate action we could possibly have taken. Be ready to recognise God's wishes for us as we go about our everyday lives.
Communion services
We hope that you have noted the new dates set for Communion Services in 2007. They are the first Sundays in March, June, September and December. Please make a note.
Thank you
The very enjoyable Christmas season is just over and it is time to remember those who in some way contributed to the pleasure we experienced.
First of all we should like to thank the Guild for donating the Christmas Tree which has adorned the church since the beginning of December. We also wish to thank Tom and Elizabeth DenhoIm for decorating it so tastefully.
The Carol Concert was very successful thanks to the Girls' and Boys' Brigades officers. A big "thank you" to the boys and girls for taking part. Our thanks too to the adult group who participated, the readers and also to the minister, the Rev lain Goring.
Throughout the year the Flower Convener has been very busy with distributing the flowers and helping one or two folks by putting their flowers into the church. This is much appreciated by us all.
A word of thanks is due to those who sold the shortbread and cookies for the Hall Fund and to those who gave monetary gifts. Thank you too for the gifts towards the cost of renovating the manse.
During the year we have had many different preachers in the Church. We record our thanks to all of them, viz Rev David Young, Rev J Stanley Cook, Rev James McKenzie, Mr Frank Haggarty, Mrs Fiona Wilson, Miss Anne Clemenson, Mrs Elizabeth Leckie and Mr Tam Stevenson. In addition a "special" thank you to the Rev Colin Sutherland who was our Interim Moderator. Finally we wish to thank the Rev lain Goring. It has been wonderful to have continuity in our worship. We all feel we have known him for a very long time and we do appreciate him very much.

The new Flower List for 2007 is in the Vestibule of the Church. Please enter your name opposite the date of your choice. If you wish to place flowers in the Church but are unable to take them to the church yourself contact Mrs Christine Bell. She will be very willing to offer you help.

If you or anyone you know would like to become a member of the Church, please get in touch with the minister, the Rev lain Goring - He would like to have the classes early this year.
